Teacher professional development

This project implements the Collaborative Australian Secondary Science Project (CASSP) model of teacher professional development (PD).

The origin and the philosophy of the CASSP are explained in detail here.

The details of the model are explained here.

This project was a small-scale trial of the overall CASSP model. It focused on the specific topic of Energy and change at the Year 9 level. All elements of the CASSP model were implemented in the trial and the products of the trial are presented on this site.

These are:

• the framework for the face-to-face PD program
• the student materials and related teacher materials
• the framework for the participative inquiry (PI) program.
