Introduction
The following assessment items are provided as a resource from which teachers may select items for an end-of-semester test for the Energy and change unit. Teachers may choose to combine items from school tests, the end of module quizzes and these test items to prepare a test that addresses the modules and activities they have covered in their class or school, and addresses the outcomes from their State or Territory's curriculum framework or syllabus.
Below is a summary of the test items, listed by question number. Items can be one of three types: objective, extended response or activity-based.

The two activity-based items are performance tasks that can be completed by students individually at their desks with minimal equipment. The students complete a small investigation that involves data collection and interpretation. The work samples generated will provide information about students' development of investigation competencies and some information about conceptual development.
A marking key has been provided for teachers who wish to generate a test score for grading and reporting. If you need to report in levels against State or Territory outcomes, you will need to generate keys to match them.
