Maths300 is an exciting web-based project which aims to support teachers in the delivery of excellent mathematics education. The aim is to resource members with extensive notes for, at least, the best 300 maths lessons (K-12).

Lessons have been successfully trialled and are presented in the illustrative MCTP style**. About one third of the lessons are supported by specially written, down loadable software. In addition, lessons are supported by Investigation Sheets (with answers), game boards where relevant, and a regular newsletter. Join our email list.

The Search Engine allows teachers to search for lessons by pedagogical feature, curriculum strand, content and year level. Lessons notes can be saved or printed directly from the site.

The Working Mathematically process is a key feature of every lesson.

This is also a major principle of the Mathematics Task Centre Project. Consequently many of the lessons in Maths300 extend the hands-on tasks from the Task Centre Project and thereby provide a bank of extensive notes to support it.

Maths300 provides unique support for:

• teachers who are 'looking for something to do tomorrow'
• teachers who are exploring changes in their teaching style, for example, wanting to include more kinaesthetic (physical involvement based) learning
• faculties determined to focus on the Working Mathematically process
• the evolving Working Mathematically curriculum

** ... MCTP (Mathematics Curriculum and Teaching Program) is arguably the most successful professional development program prior to Maths300. The Program launched two fondly remembered activity books (and several other publications) which can still be found on library shelves in schools throughout Australia and elsewhere across the world. These activity books are presented in a style which suggests to the reader that they are part of a classroom in which a mathematical adventure is unfolding. The books are now out of print, but Maths300 borrows heavily from both their style and content.
